Praying people

Prayer is powerful.  We know it. We see results from it. Prayer is our way of communicating with God and He communicates with us -- when we take the time to listen.  Thank you for praying with us for these current issues.

Thank you
Thank you for continuing to pray for our recent research trip in Tanzania.  We know the power of prayer first hand as we travel along the road seeing accidents and dodging people and wildlife -- sometimes we feel our car is covered with a cloaking device as oncoming buses and cars barrel toward us in our lane only to swerve over at the last minute. Praise God we don't have the imaginary cloaking device, but are cloaked with the power of God's protection and your prayers.

Ngabandi-Ngiri people of the Democratic Republic of Congo
We do not know much about the Ngbandi-Ngiri people – more research needs to be done to help us understand their culture and worldview in order to make a viable plan to plant Gospel seeds among them.

Ask God to make a way to reach isolated villages in this vast and heavily forested area.

Mening people of Uganda and South Sudan
Pray for U.S. churches and local African believers to catch a vision to reach the Mening people.

Pray for believers willing to live out of their comfort area and in rough conditions to bring light and life to Mening villages.

Seed sowers are needed to live among the Mening.

Konongo people of Tanzania
Pray for the Konongo people to understand that God is not only the Creator but our Father who wants a personal relationship with us individually and that He gives the FREE gift of salvation to those who believe in Him.

Pray that they would be released from the bondage of fear that ancestor worship brings.

Pray for believers to have a burden to pray for the Konongo people and that God would impress upon willing hearts the need for them to step out of their lives of comfort to tell these lost ones about God’s amazing grace.

Vidunda people of Tanzania
Ask God to open the hearts of the Vidunda, even now-- that the soil of their hearts would be tilled and ready for the seeds of the Gospel message.

Pray for a person of peace to come forth when we return that the door would be open to us.

Pray that the Vidunda would lay heavy on our hearts until either we return, or someone in our stead, to share the Gospel with the Vidunda of Tanzania.

The first day of official mourning quietly dawned.  God has given me Psalm 116 for these days.
If you have time in the coming days, read it with me and pray for the Holy Spirit to fall on the people of Kenya in great power, helping them see that only God can provide the help and security they long for... that He is good, compassionate and loving.
Pray that believers would be ready with a word of witness and a warm embrace to help calm their fears and give them hope.

Westgate Mall Terror Attack.  How you can pray:

Pray for family and friends of those who have died in the terrorist attack.

Pray for families and individuals at the mall who were injured or traumatized.

Thank God that most people were able to escape the shopping mall.

Pray for Kenyans and ex-patriots as they come to grips with evil in this world.
Pray that as they see and understand their need for a Savior, they would hear and accept the Good News of Jesus Christ allowing Christ to change their lives and give them peace.

If you have been able to journey with us through South Sudan you have already been praying for those who live there.
Thank you.
God continues to lay the people of South Sudan on our hearts as we compile information, make recommendations and wait for our next research adventure.

In Colossians 2:2-3, Paul writes;
“My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

This is our purpose in prayer – That the different peoples of South Sudan may be
encouraged in heart
united in love
understand the Word of God
know Christ – the mystery of God
Would you join us in praying to this end?

Currently the door of opportunity is open.
Pray that God would send His workers, who are able to live in hard places, with the message of the eternal grace and mercy of Christ.

Pray for  movement of the Gospel message throughout South Sudan. See post These feet ...-Nov. 7

Pray, along with us, for the Toposa people of South Sudan.
***See post Exploring the South East - Oct 24

Pray they would hear and accept the witness of God’s Word.

Pray the Toposa would seek peace with God and live at peace with their neighbors.

Pray specifically for the Toposa living in and around Kapoeta as this family goes stateside for several months. Pray that those who have accepted the Way, the Truth, and the Life would be faithful to live out and proclaim their witness.

September, October, and November are harvest months in South Sudan.  Pray for a good harvest both physically and spiritually among the Dinka in South Sudan.  A good physical harvest will help sustain lives; a good spiritual harvest will reap lives everlasting!

Join us in praying for Mathew and his family as they live and minister among the Nuer people.
***See post Exploring Leer Town and Unity State

Pray for the Nuer of Leer town and Unity State.  Their soil is a clay-based substance making travel and life during the rainy season quite a challenge. Three times we witnessed someone being carried to the hospital laying on a blanket held  at the corners by four men.
Pray that they would experience the love and mercy that God offers in the midst of the mire of this world which wants to suck them under and stop their forward progress to an understanding of Christ.

Pray for the people; of Maridi, of South Sudan, and of Sub-Saharan Africa as they deal with challenges and hardship.  Pray that they would search for  the truth that comes only through Christ.  “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me.” ***See Post Exploring the South and West part 3
Pray that Christians would have a ready word of witness and testimony concerning the wonders God performs in their lives daily.

Pray that all the peoples of Africa may know about and live in the abundant life which only comes through Christ Jesus.

We were privileged to meet Pastor Sanango.  He is living in Yambio ministering to the Zande Pray for Pastor Sanango and other whom God is calling to minister to the Zande people and the refugees from D. R. Congo who fled after conflict with the LRA (Lord’s Resistance Army).  These refugees have witnessed unspeakable horrors at the hand of the LRA.  Pray that God’s children would gather around these and help them know of His love, mercy, forgiveness and peace. ***See post Exploring the South and West - Part 2

Pray for Pastor Mullai as he works with E3 partners to train leaders and send them out with the gospel message.

Pray for Charles as he finishes his studies and begins a church planting effort in Maridi, South Sudan.

Roads become dangerous and many impassible during heavy rains.
Pray for safety for those who travel these roads.

There is great food insecurity in South Sudan. Even though the rain is falling, many people, displaced due to clan fighting and the ongoing security issues farther north, will not plant this year; and many, due to the lack of food, are eating their seed grain now instead planting.
**Pray for the people of South Sudan and other parts of Sub-Saharan Africa that they would find enough to eat.
**Pray that we all would be grateful for the abundance that God has provided for us and be sensitive to the needs of the hungry around us.  *****Read the post titled Food -- Friday, June 8
